Boo Boys are out of the Closet

Love-triangle; what to do?!
Let's say you had a friend, who had a female friend, who had a boyfriend. The female friend and her boyfriend have been together for a little over two years now, but your friend is really close with the female friend. Actually, it seems like your friend has a much deeper connection with your female friend--they confide in each other, and have much more personal trust in each other. They're on the same wavelength, and can always argue with one another (constructively). They unintentionally push each other to grow mentally and emotionally. They understand each other on a level that doesn't require verbal communication, and both can respond well to each other's needs. Simply put--they don't feel the slightest bit of loneliness when they're around each other.

Your friend knows he can be a better companion for his female friend. What should he do?..

A. Brush off his intuitions and feelings; forget the obvious and move on to other opportunities; give up
B. Be a home-wrecker and fight for her monogamous companionship for a potentially lifelong commitment
C. Stay close and let be what may be; wait

I won't wait for anything but you.

Is the friend you? And where is the triangle?
Best way is to come out and say it.
I have spoken.

Let's say that you're in the friend zone already. Let's also say that what you wrote doesn't indicate the slightest bit of sexual / romantic attraction on her part.

Is it "had a boyfriend" or "has a boyfriend." Your verb conjugation is confusing. From what follows it seems that "has a boyfriend" is what you meant.

If it's "had," and there's a lot more you're not telling us, then maybe. I've had a "friends to lovers" opportunity before, but usually there's a reason you're in the friend zone to begin with. My status with her changed only after I changed.

If it's "has," then wait it out while growing as a person and making a life. Personally I'd find any excuse to self-improve and if the prospect of getting this girl to feel attraction to you helps you become a better person then I'd use it.

In the western world you should iNtuitively know that polyandry is politically unacceptable, so it is best to keep quiet. You can a wait forever. This issue mucks up the Perseus System matches. The Guards SJ will not like it cause they have a monogamous monotheist rule book. The NTJs will not like the third party either because they know the political climate. Polyandry is unacceptable in almost all political and religious systems. Polygyny tends to be illegal or unacceptable but not in all societies. These practices are called Taboo. Famous people and politicians are not allowed to break taboos.

Homosexual Love

The Perseus System does not really accept homosexual love (not just sex) in its remit (restricted world view) but I am now expanding the types allocation to allocate their attitudes.

ENFJ: Close family ties mean that it is probably accepted because of a lack of opportunity for the normal mating behaviour. 5% of the total population.

ENFP: OK for novelty and surprises and when they are in danger, but they will revert to normal except when blackmailed. 5% of the total population.

ENTJ: Rejects the possibility as feasible. Not impossible though given exceptional circumstances. 5% of the total population.

ENTP: Non-conformist and innovative, but this does not mean that homosexuality is acceptable. It isn't. 5% of the total population.

ESFJ: They like personal contact, but homosexual contacts are eschewed, except perhaps a brief encounter, less than a one night stand. 13% of the total population.

ESFP: Very sociable and may not take notice of gender differences, but I still think that it is unlikely. 13% of the total population.

ESTJ: Not love but a power bullying relationship is possible. With this lot, I sometimes whether they are capable of love at all, but always with the opposite sex. 13% of the total population

ESTP: I expect this lot could, but they love themselves most of all. 13% of the total population.

INFJ: Complex personality and I do not really understand this lot. For the sake of harmony they may engage in a liason, but a homosexual love is impossible. 1% of the total population.

INFP: They could easily sacrifice themselves to homosexual love in conventional theory, but I think it is impossible for these type. 1% of the total population.

INTJ: Could be crackpooted enough to try on drugs, but otherwise nigh impossible. 1% of the total population.

INTP: Could be deluded into attempting a wrong liaison of any kind because of lack of personal contact, but I would say it was impossible. 1% of the total population.

ISFJ: Too conservative to even try, but they might like it for a bit if they get trapped. 6% of the total population.

ISFP: Not big on commitment, but very much on the cards for these types. They will revert to normal if the opportunity arises. 5% of the total population.

ISTJ: These lot could be savage homosexual lovers. But not if it was illegal. 6% of the total population.

ISTP: My guess is that this lot could adapt to what whatever they want and could be homosexual as a second choice. 5% of the total population.

First draft. Opinions appreciated.

Hubris Revisited (Black Riders)

Individuals who come to study abroad with no intention of actually working hard in their studies. Live off the wealth of their parents which they squander daily on alcohol and shopping. Smoking is a necessity, especially in front of the school library. Will only befriend you with an ulterior motive. Never one to be trusted or taken seriously. Don't have much respect for anyone but themselves and believe that money can solve everything. Males who already completed military service are the worst. Their pride eats away their brain and believes that violence and force is the only solution to all problems. Known to cheat excessively in groups on exams even under the watchful eye of university professors. Known to beat women and will demand respect from people younger than they are. Will often hide behind their religion to look innocent. "Christianity" is often a mask to hide their thoughts and is also a way to get women.

Stereotype

A stereotype is a commonly held public belief about specific social groups or types of individuals. The concepts of "stereotype" and "prejudice" are often confused with many other different meanings. Stereotypes are standardized and simplified conceptions of groups based on some prior assumptions.

Sociologists believe that mental categorizing (or labelling) is necessary and inescapable. One perspective on how to understand stereotyping process is through the categories or ingroups and outgroups. Ingroups are viewed as normal and superior, and are generally the group that one associates with or aspires to join. An outgroup is simply all the other groups. They are seen as lesser or inferior than the in groups.

High Water (Baptism or drowning in the Sea of Souls)

Well, George Henry Lewes told the Englishman, the Italian and the Jew
“You can’t open your mind, boys
To every conceivable point of view”
They got Charles Darwin trapped out there on Highway Five
Judge says to the High Sheriff,
“I want him dead or alive
Either one, I don’t care”
High water everywhere

but, they tell me there's water there
Now, the water now, mama,

Well, they tell me the water,

Temporary Like Achilles

Feeling like Achilles. In a bad way. I woke up with an excruciating pain in my Achilles Tendon. I have had this before and I could not walk on my left foot.

I want to go back to sleep and wake up with the pain gone.

And I was going to cut the hedge today.

Kneeling 'neath your ceiling
Yes, I guess I'll be here for a while
I'm trying' to read your portrait, but
I'm helpless, like a rich man's child
How come you send someone out to have me barred ?
You know I want your lovin'
Honey, why are you so hard ?

Interactionism

In sociology, interactionism is a theoretical perspective that derives social processes (such as conflict, cooperation, identity formation) from human interaction. It is the study of individuals and how they act within society. Interactionist theory has grown in the latter half of the twentieth century and has become one of the dominant sociological perspectives in the world today.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interactionism

Interactions

Interactionism is micro-sociological and believes that meaning is produced through the interactions of individuals.
The social interaction is a face-to-face process consisting of actions, reactions, and mutual adaptation between two or more individuals. The interaction includes all language (including body language) and mannerisms. The goal of the social interaction is to communicate with others. If the interaction is in danger of ending before one intends it to, it can be conserved by conforming to the others' expectations, by ignoring certain incidents or by solving apparent problems. Erving Goffman underlines the importance of control in the interaction. One must attempt to control the others' behaviour during the interaction, in order to attain the information one is seeking and in order to control the perception of one's own image. Important concepts in the field of interactionism include the "social role" and Goffman's "presentation of self".

Answered 30/336 questions (Answer More) (Answer Comprehensive Test)

Trait Explanations
In order to interpret your raw trait scores, they were compared to the first 350,000 people to complete the full MyPersonality Big Five questionnaire. This allows the way that you described yourself to be put in the context of how other people respond to the questionnaire. You should remember that there are no fundamentally good or bad personalities, as each trait description has potential advantages and disadvantages. To help you reflect on these, you have also been given some questions which ask you to consider the implications of your trait descriptions. Other people viewing your personality profile will not be able to see these.

Openness
This trait refers to the extent to which you prefer novelty versus convention. Approximately 98% of respondents have a lower openness raw percentage than yours. From the way you answered the questions, you seem to describe yourself as someone who is far more intellectually curious and sensitive to beauty than most. You might say that your beliefs are individualistic and frequently drift towards the unconventional, and that you enjoy your imagination and the exciting places it takes you!

Reflective question: What place do you think that tradition has in society (if any)?

Conscientiousness
This trait refers to the extent to which you prefer an organised, or a flexible, approach in life. Approximately 40% of respondents have a lower conscientiousness raw percentage than yours. From the way you answered the questions, you seem to describe yourself as someone who is spontaneous and fun, and that you like to do unexpected things that make life that bit more interesting. You might say that you aren't completely unreliable, but you've been known to slip up on occasion.

Reflective question: How do you go about tackling a new task?

Extraversion
This trait refers to the extent to which you enjoy company, and seek excitement and stimulation. Approximately 21% of respondents have a lower extraversion raw percentage than yours. From the way you answered the questions, you seem to describe yourself as someone who prefers low-key social occasions, with a few close friends. You might say that it's not that you are afraid of large parties; they're just not that fun for you.

Reflective question: How do you like to spend your spare time?

Agreeableness
This trait refers to the way you express your opinions and manage relationships. Approximately 0.4% of respondents have a lower agreeableness raw percentage than yours. From the way you answered the questions, you seem to describe yourself as someone who is willing to make difficult decisions when necessary, and will point out when something is wrong no matter what other people might feel. Your responses suggest that you would say that you can be tough and uncompromising.

Reflective question: When others are experiencing problems, what do you do?

Neuroticism (Emotional stability)
This trait refers to the way you cope with, and respond to, life's demands. Approximately 97% of respondents have a lower neuroticism raw percentage than yours. From the way you answered the questions, you seem to describe yourself as someone who tends to be more self-conscious than many. Based on your responses, you come across as someone who can find it hard to not get caught up by anxious or stressful situations. You might say that you are in touch with your own feelings.

Reflective question: When do you not feel in control of your emotions?

Post Results to News Feed
Research has found that the Big Five personality traits are significantly related to Jungian Typology (e.g. the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator). This is a popular alternative personality framework regularly used for personal development, in which Types are used rather than Traits. Based on your Big Five trait scores, your estimated Type is shown below (if you have already taken a Jungian Typology test and got a different result, this can be changed from the More Options section).

INTP
Introverted iNtuitive Thinking Perceiving
INTPs are quiet, thoughtful, analytical individuals who don't mind spending long periods of time on their own, working through problems and forming solutions. INTPs tend to be less at ease in social situations and the 'caring professions,' although they enjoy the company of those who share their interests. They also tend to be impatient with the bureaucracy, rigid hierarchies, and politics prevalent in many professions, preferring to work informally with others as equals. INTPs' extraverted intuition often gives them a quick wit, especially with language, and they can defuse the tension in gatherings by comical observations and references. They can be charming, even in their quiet reserve, and are sometimes surprised by the high esteem in which their friends and colleagues hold them.

The chick logic a woman (especially younger ones) will go through to relieve the guilt having sex too quickly with a man, assuming she has enough time to "think" about the consequences - a reaction which causes them to come up with objections or reasons that they shouldn't fuck you in order to relieve their guilt of taking *responsibility* for doing something that society would often call "slutty".

Jörmungandr

Jörmungandr (pronounced [ˈjœrmuŋɡandr]), mostly known as Jormungand or Jörmungand, the Midgard Serpent, Midgarðsormur, or World Serpent, is, in Norse mythology, a sea serpent, and the middle child of the giantess Angrboða and the god Loki. According to the Prose Edda, Odin took Loki's three children, Fenrisúlfr, Hel and Jörmungandr, and tossed Jörmungandr into the great ocean that encircles Midgard. The serpent grew so large that he was able to surround the Earth and grasp his own tail. When he lets go the world will end. As a result he earned the alternate name of the Midgard Serpent or World Serpent. Jörmungandr's arch enemy is the god Thor.

Comment: swallowing his own tail is another serpent character.

Half-cock

Half-cock is a technical firearms term referring to the position of the hammer where the hammer is partially but not completely cocked. Many firearms, particularly older firearms, had a notch cut into the hammer allowing half-cock, as this position would neither allow the gun to fire nor permit the hammer-mounted firing pin to rest on a live percussion cap or cartridge. The purpose of the half-cock position has variously been used either for loading a firearm, or, as a safety-mechanism, or for both reasons.

Due Diligence Checklist

'Pre-Marriage Due-Diligence'

“The Due Diligence Checklist is truly amazing. I have downloaded this and distributed amongst my friends for discussion........I wish this sort of thing had been available to me when deciding whether or not to get married. The chat with the vicar didn’t really hit the spot and many issues just didn‘t get discussed (and I mean after the marriage too). Consequently that relationship failed over wanting children. Is the glass half empty or half full?

Question for everyone. Is the glass half empty or half full?

The Engineer looked at me aghast and did not know what to say. Finally, he chirped up and said "it is obvious that it is half full of liquid and half full of air, so the only thing that counts is whether it moves." And the bartender nodded his head in agreement. Before everybody burst into song, the Scientist said " It is half full of liquid, the air is all around us, not just inside the glass..." Not it isn't, it is completely empty!" said the drunkard.

Caliban

Caliban

The name is an anagram of the Spanish word canibal, also the source of the English word "cannibal". Canibal comes from Christopher Columbus's designation Caniba for the Caribs. The name may also be inspired by the word Kaliban meaning black or with blackness in the English Romani language. As the first Romani immigrants arrived in England a century before Shakespeare wrote The Tempest, it is thought he may have been influenced by their exotic looks and manners. Strangled Kestrel and the Tin Soldier

I was delighted to see two interesting short plays, that were a foil for
each other, at the Barn Theatre last Friday. The first with an unknown title
by an unknown (to me) writer was a common sense diatribe between a taxi
driver and Mrs scientist who arranged to meet at the Strangled Kestrel after
the Conference.

The second was a nastier basic re-interpretation of the
mixed message in John Fowles' book The Collector. There were more visuals in
the latter play and for those who did not know the book it came out as dark
and macabre. If Miranda Grey and Fred Clegg (play version) met on a train
they would arrange to meet at the Tin Soldier.

Intellect

Intelligence derives from the Latin verb intellegere; per that rationale, “understanding” (intelligence) is different from being “smart” (capable of adapting to the environment). Scientists have proposed two major “consensus” definitions of intelligence:
(i) from Mainstream Science on Intelligence (1994), a report by fifty-two researchers:
A very general mental capability that, among other things, involves the ability to reason, plan, solve problems, think abstractly, comprehend complex ideas, learn quickly and learn from experience. It is not merely book learning, a narrow academic skill, or test-taking smarts. Rather, it reflects a broader and deeper capability for comprehending our surroundings — “catching on”, “making sense” of things, or “figuring out” what to do.

Intimidation

Fowles' own explanation of the purpose behind The Collector

Fowles' own explanation of the purpose behind The Collector

Fowles explained in his follow-up book The Aristos, that the main point behind the novel was to show what he felt to be the danger of class and intellectual divisions in a society where prosperity for the majority was becoming more widespread, particularly power (whether by wealth or position) getting into the hands of those intellectually unsuited to handle it.

Her hotness lures you in but then her issues are the deal breaker. She could be crazy (ESFJ), on the rebound or duelling today’s alter ego. This one, the Beautiful Pain In The Arse, makes you regret life, but finds your head up on her wall time after time. Career Vision

Careers Plan

However, to develop a successful career vision, you need to find out about your own personality and interests. “It’s important to gain a broad understanding of yourself before trying to figure out your vision,” says Davison. “What really interests you and gets you going?”

Michelle Bayley, professional life and career coach for Find Your Way Coaching, agrees – and believes individuals shouldn’t create a careers plan before they have a good understanding of themselves.

-NTP Tricks of the Trade

Dig in your heels when being forced to do something you would have to be forced to do because you don't want to do it; defend any and all resultant asinine behavior on the grounds you are defending your right to choose how you spend your time. (I think this may qualify as a protip.)
When presented with an emotional appeal, turn off your emotion chip.
When presented with an emotion heavy crisis, turn off your emotion chip.
When presented with presented with a crying loved one, make sure the emotion chip is on. Unless it's a crisis.
A promise never made is a promise never broken. Promises limit options forward into an uncertain future. This is bad for exit strategies.
A certain amount of meandering creates unpredictability. Predictable people are the easiest to ambush.
Knowing yourself is good. Knowing how other people contrast with you is better. Knowing your enemy is even more useful.
Relying solely on intuition is irrational. Unless it's telling you GTFO.
Protip: Know how to STFU. Yes you must know the why, but it doesn't mean it's useful or wise to tell other people.
Knowing when to STFU is important too. But intuition on this requires training. Unfortunately.

Ingénue

The ingénue (pronounced /ˈænʒənuː/) is a stock character in literature, film, and a role type in the theatre; generally a girl or a young woman who is endearingly innocent and wholesome.
Typically, the ingenue is beautiful, gentle, sweet, virginal, and often naïve, in mental or emotional danger, or even physical danger, usually a target of The Cad; whom she may have mistaken for The Hero. Due to lack of independence, the ingenue usually lives with her father or a father figure (although in some rare cases she lives with a mother figure). The vamp is often a foil for the ingenue (or the damsel in distress, for that matter).

Its Fantastic

What word immediately conjures up into your mind. If this to do with your work of art, masterpiece, what do you think?

Context example: "A photograph of a Butterfly"

Fantastic
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fantastic

The fantastic genre can be subtly seen in works where the reader has a sense of confusion about the work and whether or not the described phenomenon was real. Todorov states that this genre never solely encompasses a novel as the ending always drives the hesitation towards one of two decisions which he titles as the uncanny or the marvelous. The uncanny, wherein the phenomenon turns out to have a rational explanation such as in the Gothic works of Ann Radcliffe; or the marvelous, where there truly is a supernatural explanation for the phenomenon:
The fantastic requires the fulfillment of three conditions. First, the text must oblige the reader to consider the world of the characters as a world of living persons and to hesitate between a natural or supernatural explanation of the events described. Second, this hesitation may also be experienced by a character; thus the reader's role is so to speak entrusted to a character, and at the same time the hesitation is represented, it becomes one of the themes of the work -- in the case of naive reading, the actual reader identifies himself with the character. Third, the reader must adopt a certain attitude with regard to the text: he will reject allegorical as well as "poetic" interpretations.

Relative Genres

There is no truly typical "fantastic story", as the term generally discusses works of the horror or gothic genre. But two representative stories might be:
Algernon Blackwood's story "The Willows", where two men traveling down the Danube River are beset by an eerie feeling of malice and several improbable setbacks in their trip; the question that pervades the story is whether they are falling prey to the wilderness and their own imaginations, or if there really is something horrific out to get them.
Edgar Allan Poe's story "The Black Cat," where a murderer is haunted by a black cat; but is it revenge from beyond the grave, or just a cat?

Figurative Language

Literal and Figurative Language
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
(Redirected from Figurative language)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Figurative_language

Literal and figurative language is a distinction in traditional systems for analyzing language. Literal language refers to words that do not deviate from their defined meaning. Figurative language refers to words, and groups of words, that exaggerate or alter the usual meanings of the component words. Figurative language may involve analogy to similar concepts or other contexts, and may involve exaggerations. These alterations result in figures of speech.

Details and examples

In traditional analysis, words in literal expressions denote what they mean according to common or dictionary usage, while the words in figurative expressions connote—they add layers of meaning. To convert an utterance into meaning, the human mind requires a cognitive framework, made up of memories of all the possible meanings that might be available to apply to the particular words in their context. This set of memories will give prominence to the most common or literal meanings, but also suggest reasons for attributing different meanings, e.g., the reader understands that the author intended it to mean something different.
For example, the sentence, "The Ground is thirsty", is partly figurative. "Ground" has a literal meaning, but the ground is not alive and therefore neither needs to drink nor feels thirst.

Logical Person

You have an organised and logical turn of mind and will probably be happier to work behind the scenes rather than directly with customers or clients of a business. You probably prefer to have a defined set of tasks to complete and a timetable in which to complete them and you may well thrive on meeting deadlines! On the down side, you may find that dealing with other peoples’ problems or emotions a bit trying so it would suit you better to steer away from a job where you had to deal with these sorts of challenges. You probably enjoy making things work and understanding how they work so dealing with technical issues will probably give you an interesting challenge.

The courses that you could consider taking are: Sage Computerised Book-Keeping, Sage Payroll, Practical Book-Keeping, Chartered Insurance Institute Certificate in Financial Administration, or one of the computing courses for example CompTIA A+, CompTIA network +, Microsoft Desktop Support Technician or Computer Programming Visual basic.net.

Social Person

You will be ideally suited to a career where keeping customers happy is important to you. They also show that you have good organizational skills so you will be a useful member of a team where systems and processes are in place, although you won’t be the most organised person there! It is unlikely that you will be happy working exclusively with technology, although you will be happy to use it to get the job done. Working with your instinct will come easily to you and talking things over with friends and colleagues is also important for you.

You could consider career options where the focus is on working with other people, so the courses that will work best for you are: Professional Development Courses such as Personnel Skills or Life coaching. The Chartered Institute of Marketing Certificate blends commercial and creative skills with a focus on the customer. Alternatively our social care courses develop skills in understanding how people work to make you even more effective at working with other people. Our introduction to counselling, child day care, child psychology, criminology or psychology courses would all fit your preferred style.

Organiser

Your preference for organisation will make you a really valuable member of any team where systems and processes are important. Because you like to have time to deal with problems thoroughly, deadlines may give you cause for concern, but, as long as you have enough time to deal with your work, you will feel more comfortable.

If your focus is more around organizing others then a career in management might be for you – consider our business courses to take the first step e.g. business management, business essentials, and business communications. If you would like to work in a specialist area within a company, your preference to organising will make the following options ideal for you: Chartered Insurance Institute Certificate in Financial Administration, Chartered Institute of Marketing Certificate.

Entrepreneur

Being organised and having processes to follow is probably not too important to you, you are happy to be free spirit and go with your instincts and ideas. Your ideal job will be where you can be innovative and able to use your creativity to its best advantage.

You do not need to know how things work – just what they can do for you, so whilst you are probably happy to use computers and technology, they are not the most important parts of your life!

The Home Learning College courses that will suit you best are: Professional Development Courses, Business and Travel courses, and Microsoft Office. If you also enjoy working creatively you could also consider Adobe Dreamweaver with a view to working with websites.

The Sonnet

The Sonnet
Deliberate Gentle Love Dreamer (DGLD)
http://www.okcupid.com/personality?type=DGLD&g=2&o=1

Romantic, hopeful, and composed. You are the Sonnet. Get it? Composed?
Sonnets want Love and have high ideals about it. They’re conscientious people, caring & careful. You yourself have deep convictions, and you devote a lot of thought to romance and what it should be. This will frighten away most potential mates, but that’s okay, because you’re very choosy with your affections anyway. You’d absolutely refuse to date someone dumber than you, for instance.
Lovers who share your idealized perspective, or who are at least willing to totally throw themselves into a relationship, will be very, very happy with you. And you with them. You’re already selfless and compassionate, and with the right partner, there’s no doubt you can be sensual, even adventurously so.
You probably have lots of female friends, and they have a special soft spot for you. Babies do, too, at the tippy-top of their baby skulls.

Unforgiven for their Abuse

Yoga teachers Joel Kramer and Diana Alstad analyse the use of unconditional love and the associated concept of forgiveness as a foundation for authoritarian control. They survey a number of religions worldwide and conclude that the imperative of forgiveness is often used by leaders to perpetrate cycles of ongoing abuse. They state that "to forgive without requiring the other to change is not only self-destructive, but ensures a dysfunctional relationship will remain so by continually rewarding mistreatment."

Poison Control

Poison Control
©2010 Gail Pursell Elliott

Extract for Review Purposes

Poison control centers are valuable for providing good information about substances that can damage us physically. Wouldn't it be great if there were poison control centers that could help us with emotional or spiritual damage in similar ways? When my children were little the local center in our community offered Mr. Yuck stickers to put on anything that was a hands off item. People and situations don't come with Mr. Yuck stickers of course but I can think of a few in my life that should have had them and I'll bet you can too. I'm also sure that there are a few people I've encountered who'd like to give me one. Fortunately, we cannot assign poison control stickers to other human beings! . Someone who is poison to one person may not be to another, rather like various allergies which in some cases can be as fatal as a poison.

Five Types (Profiling)

Profiling at Jobsite

Contender

As a Contender, you're likely to believe at times it is necessary for work to come before the family, with the knowledge that the family will benefit in the long run from your success.

You believe that in a world of opportunities, the strongest thrive. Fortunately, you're a person that makes things happen. You're able to set goals and focus on achieving them, not afraid to make difficult decisions or take risks. The last thing you want is a dead end job, you want to move on up and be rewarded for your efforts and ability.

Balancer

As a Balancer, you want to carefully and passionately manage your time to get the most out of your life. You want to choose a job that interests you but still allows you to balance your career with your other priorities. You appreciate this flexibility in all areas of your life, interactions and work. The best type of organisation for you is one where people are treated as the most valuable asset. You enjoy the informality, friendliness and democracy. Most of all, work is a means to an exciting end for you.

Believer

As a Believer you believe the world has almost infinite possibilities. You believe people should be pursuing their passions and not be caught up by what others say they should desire. Your entire life involves continuously having new experiences and learning from them. It is the challenge, the risk, the prospect of what you can achieve that drives you, rather than simply making money. You're a self-motivated individual driven by your passion and so need a job and environment with loose boundaries and maximum freedom.

Supporter

As a Supporter, you're very much a family person and believe they should always come before work. For you there is more to life than work and want a job where you can turn up, get a good days' work done and then go home. You don't want the extra responsibility of decision-making either, you'd rather someone else in authority told you what to do and to what standard.

You believe rules and structures within life, particularly at work, are necessary to make sure everyone knows what they need to do. You're a 'safe pair of hands' and can be depended upon by your bosses.

Survivor

As a Survivor, you have a strong focus on getting what you want and getting it quickly. You believe in the survival of the fittest, where each person needs to do what it takes to thrive. You're not afraid of taking on physical challenges or risks either. When making decisions you don't waste time doing complicated calculations, you do it on instinct, on gut feeling. In terms of work, you're not really looking for a career, just a wage - you don't mind a hard day's work for a fair day's pay.

http://www.jobsite.co.uk/home/profiling.html

I'm a Believer

The process of finding a job to suit you can be very demanding and challenging. It's more than just checking to see if you have the right skills and working out how long it will take to get to work. Our personal profile will help you to better understand yourself and assist in finding the work environment that suits you best.

Elections 2010 Animal Portraits

What animals are allocated to the players in Elections 2010:

Nick Clegg; Beaver
David Cameron: Teddy Bear
Gordon Brown: Wolf
David Millibrand: Owl
Harriet Harman: Horse

Inner World Recovery

Inner World Recovery

Enhanced dream content seems to be a function of the inner self trying to deal with bullying/trauma under the conditions of Critical Stress where the stressors cause physical and psychological illness (UK medical philosophy definition).

As stress is caused by other people or your psychic-social conditions, good dreams are a sign of possible improvement? The Millon Map proposes an interior map of behaviour when really it is just a response to psychic-social conditions (i.e. superficial).

As I have not been given any advice I have not any exterior wisdom source of how to deal with such stress intrusions. I described the trauma from the very beginning as "Heaven and Hell", certainly an orchestrated plan of intimidation by the Other. In other words, some people said out with the deliberate and premeditated decision to intimidate and bully me for their own nefarious reasons. I call this the Dark Star or "Bulls riding on the back of a Pride of Lions".

The difficulty is trying to trying to adapt to (fit your character in with) the outside world. Then comes the political climate, the politicans as social controllers. The Community Centre (the dream was real) is the community and animals are located in various compass points of psychological type/political affiliation around the centre (will the centre hold after the fire?). The types are grouped according to their psychological character types, although some (Artisans) are adaptive camp switchers.

Then the elected politicians give the good jobs to their friends (similar characters) and bully the "welas" outsiders and call them all sorts of animal names.

I cannot cut a deal if they will not even speak to me.

None of the personality type assessments are more than a guide and they do not stand up to hawk-like scrutiny. They are just a map of the surface features. But if you want to get from Hyde Park Corner to London Zoo, you don't need a map of London geology.

The Community Centre (the dream was real) is the community and animals are located in various compass points of psychological type/political affiliation around the centre (will the centre hold after the fire?).

When the centre is lost "all purpose and direction is lost"

When the centre is lost in the circle, it cannot be found except by two lines crossing each other at right angles'.

Ziz

In Jewish belief, Behemoth is the primal unconquerable monster of the land, as Leviathan is the primal monster of the waters of the sea and Ziz the primordial monster of the sky.

The Ziz is a giant griffin-like bird in Jewish mythology, said to be large enough to be able to block out the sun with its wingspan. It is considered a giant animal/monster corresponding to archetypal creatures. Rabbis have said that the Ziz is comparable to the Persian Simurgh. Behemoth, Leviathan and Ziz were traditionally a favorite decoration motif for rabbis living in Russia.

Human Development Index (HDI)

The Human Development Index (HDI) is a composite statistic used as an index to rank countries by level of "human development" and separate developed (high development), developing (middle development), and underdeveloped (low development) countries. The statistic is composed from statistics for Life Expectancy, Education, Standard of living and GDP collected at the national level using the formula given in the Methodology section below.

Management by Discrimination

Regardless of the progress made through legislation over the years, discrimination and bigotry still exist and utilize more subtle tactics to exclude perceived undesirables from groups and organizations of all kinds. Although mobbing is usually described as a status-blind form of harassment it also can be used by some to mask discrimination directed at individuals associated with those groups protected by law. The term may be new to you, but you will quickly recognize the behavior. If you are familiar with the terms "sabotage" "set up" and "wrongful termination" you'll gain insight from this program. This offering addresses how mobbing occurs, the impact on the individual and the organization and strategies for identifying, intercepting, and preventing this behavior in the workplace.

Centaurs (Astro-)

The centaurs are an unstable orbital class of minor planets named after the mythological race of centaurs. The name was chosen because they behave as half asteroid and half comet. Centaurs have transient orbits that cross or have crossed the orbits of one or more of the giant planets, and have dynamical lifetimes of a few million years.[1]

Oort Cloud

The Oort cloud (pronounced /ˈɔrt/ ort, alternatively the Öpik-Oort cloud IPA: [ˈøpik]) is a hypothesized spherical cloud of comets which may lie roughly 50,000 AU, or nearly a light-year, from the Sun.[1] This places the cloud at nearly a quarter of the distance to Proxima Centauri, the nearest extrasolar star. The Kuiper belt and scattered disc, the other two known reservoirs of trans-Neptunian objects, are less than one thousandth the Oort cloud's distance. The outer extent of the Oort cloud defines the gravitational boundary of our Solar System.[

Hero Blues

Well, she begged, she cried
She pleaded with me all last night
Well, she begged, she cried
She pleaded with me all last night
She wants me to go out
And find somebody to fight

She reads too many books
She got new movies inside her head
She reads too many books
She got movies inside her head
She wants me to walk out running
She wants me to crawl back dead

You need a different kinda man, babe
One that can grab and hold your heart
Need a different kind of man, babe

You need a different kind of man, babe
You need Napoleon Boneeparte

Tribas

In the sexuality of the ancient Romans, a tribas was a woman who wanted to be an active partner or "top" in intercourse. The Romans did not classify according to homosexuality and heterosexuality. They instead had words for the active partner and the passive one.

They tend to succumb easily to intellectual arrogance and are impossible to argue with because they are frequently dismissive and closed-minded, accepting only certain kinds of information as valid regardless of the nature of the topic. This wouldn't be quite so problematic if they didn't like to argue so much. It seems to be something they do for fun, just to practice getting their minds into every little crevice of an idea.

They are much too detail oriented, focusing on specifics when the general concept is actually more important, and will spend more time picking at and criticizing any imperfect details in an example or analogy than trying to understand the overall meaning of the broader expression. This leads to many arguments on linguistics that never get past the point of trying to define terms in a tedious, meticulous way, even if the original point being argued had nothing to do with how words are used and was supposed to be about something more interesting and important.

They are impossible to satisfy. No matter what a person does right, or how brilliant an idea is, there will always be criticism for not doing better or taking it to the next step. There is no way for an INFP to please an INTP in order to achieve a feeling of security in the social relationship. There will always be a nagging feeling that nothing will ever be good enough and that all efforts are completely wasted. This means that eventually I will give up trying to please an INTP, and instead of breaking myself to pieces struggling for approval, I eventually learn to just avoid the person. With an INTP, I never end up with a sufficient level of security to feel safe being open and intimate about ideas and feelings, so any conversation is pointless. I need to feel safe in order to talk about my more complex ideas, and if I know that something I find interesting enough to share or speculate about will be cut apart with a scalpel, I would rather keep it to myself. I always end up feeling guarded with INTPs, even the ones I like. I don't know if I will ever be able to trust one not to hurt me, even if they don't always do it on purpose.

This is the moralist version of the INFP.

F-type-"the nurturers"

FINP- "the moralist"- The SJ of the INFP universe, this subtype carries a very robust moral code and is not shy about expressing it.

The NP in the INTP reacts against it. This usually means the influence of the dreaded ESFJ. Suspend Judgement.

PS: The INTP does not feel safe because of the ESFJs. Your consultant should be the INFJ Skylark and your best match should be an ENTP, and your description does sound more like that of an ENTP. The INTP does not like security (prison) whereas the ENTP specifies the prison conditions (sometimes and often not). But the Phoenix version of the INTP accepts security.

Social Order of the Comanche

Comanche groups did not have a single acknowledged leader. Instead, a small number of generally recognized leaders acted as counsel and advisors to the group as a whole. These included the "peace chief," the members of the council, and the "war chief."

The peace chief was usually an older individual, who could bring his experience to the task of advising. There was no formal inauguration or election to the position, it was one of general consensus.

The council made decisions about where the band should hunt, whether they should war against their enemies, and whether to ally themselves with other bands. Any member could speak at council meetings, but the older men usually did most of the talking.

In times of war, the band selected a war chief. To be chosen for this position, a man had to prove he was a brave fighter. He also had to have the respect of all the other warriors in the band. While the band was at war, the war chief was in charge, and all the warriors had to obey him. After the conflict was over, however, the war chief's authority ended.

The Comanche men did most of the hunting and all of the fighting in the wars. They learned how to ride horses when they were young and were eager to prove themselves in battle. On the plains, Comanche women carried out the demanding tasks of cooking, skinning animals, setting up camp, rearing children, and transporting household goods.

In the Land of the Blind, the One-eyed Panda is King

Chapter 60: In the Land of the Blind, the One-eyed Panda is King (actually a surrogate Queen).

Disorder: the Crisis

The Panda has now been identified as a type of INFP (FPNI) (not as wrongly identified in earlier messages)
and she wants everything put back in exactly the right place.

Or NIPF-"master of puppets" or one of the other types.

Correction: not actually really in charge because that is the Wolf ENTJ. But for the story, in the Graphic Design department the Skylarks have been "larking" about rearranging the design and it has to be altered back to the conventional style and this means it misses the deadline.

And the Panda gets the blame for not keeping discipline and all the girls and wimps are in big trouble.

Pheromones

Pheromones

Other studies have suggested that people might be using odor cues associated with the immune system to select mates who are not closely related to themselves. Using a brain imaging technique, Swedish researchers have shown that homosexual and heterosexual males' brains respond differently to two odors that may be involved in sexual arousal, and that the homosexual men respond in the same way as heterosexual women, though it could not be determined whether this was cause or effect.

Wyrd Sisters

Wyrd is a concept in Old English culture roughly corresponding to fate or personal destiny. The word is ancestral to Modern English weird, which retains its original meaning only dialectally. The cognate term in old Norse is Urðr, with a similar meaning, but also personalized as one of the Norns, Urðr (anglicized as Urd) and appearing in the name of the holy well Urðarbrunnr in Norse mythology. The concept corresponding to "fate, destiny" in Old Norse is Ørlǫg.

In Greek mythology, Nemesis (in Greek, Νέμεσις), also called Rhamnousia/Rhamnusia ("the goddess of Rhamnous") at her sanctuary at Rhamnous, north of Marathon, was the spirit of divine retribution against those who succumb to hubris (Extreme haughtiness or arrogance). The Greeks personified vengeful fate as a remorseless goddess. The name Nemesis is related to the Greek word νέμειν, nemein, meaning "to give what is due". The Romans equated the Greek Nemesis with Invidia (Aronoff 2003).
Nemesis is now often used as a term to describe one's worst enemy, normally someone or something that is the exact opposite of oneself but is also somehow similar. For example, Professor Moriarty is frequently described as the nemesis of Sherlock Holmes.

I think it is the E that is arrogant. The trick is to "Send them Up" and then they become Introverted.

This presents a problem in the feeding grounds "workplace" and at the watering holes "pubs, cafes" as E is necessary for social interaction and making a living and it spooks the ESFJ.

The INTP may have to morph-shift through the different functions, but must beware that some shifts lead to suicide. This is the operation of too much Introverted Thinking without the other functions.

The INTP needs to find a habitat without the Guardian predominance. They are likely to "Beat him Up".
This INTP has to be very careful to avoid the Rat XSFJ.
