Rizpah
by Alfred Lord Tennyson
Wailing, wailing, wailing, the wind over land and sea -
And Willy's voice in the wind, `O mother, come out to me.
'Why should he call me to-night, when he knows that I cannot go?
For the downs are as bright as day, and the full moon stares at the snow.
http://www.everything2.org/title/Rizpah
`They dared me to do it,' he said, and he never has told me a lie.
I whipt him for robbing an orchard once when he was but a child -
`The farmer dared me to do it,' he said; he was always so wild -
I came into court to the Judge and the lawyers.
I told them my tale,God's own truth -
but they kill'd him, they kill'd him for robbing the mail.
They hang'd him in chains for a show - we had always borne a good name -
To be hang'd for a thief - and then put away - isn't that enough shame?
The story:
1792 A highway robbery by a Shoreham man named Rook, an accomplice to Howell, on the mail at the Goldstone Bottom resulted in the execution of the perpetrators by hanging. The recovery of the bones from the gibbet by Rook's mother, inspired Tennyson's poem 'Rizpah'.

Notes on the Millon Map
The Millon Map of personality types is not fixed. My experience has proven to my satisfaction that the existential positions and behaviour of a person is their choice and not ingrained. They may appear fixed because of psycho-social circumstances. In other words, a sadist chooses to be a sadist, a narcissist chooses to be a Nark, a paedophile chooses to molest prepubertal, and a homeless wanderer can change into a property owning fisherman (Tortilla Flat).
Using Tortilla Flat as an example, we can see (in theory) that the behaviour of your friends and acquaintances can effect your personality. Hang around with wasters* and you become the anti-socials as explained in the Millon Map.
http://www.millon.net/taxonomy/antisocial.htm
(F) Expressively Impulsive (e.g., is impetuous and irrepressible, acting hastily and spontaneously in a restless, spur-of-the-moment manner; is short-sighted, incautious and imprudent, failing to plan ahead or consider alternatives, no less heed consequences).
So, who would put a person like this in charge?
Lack of opportunities etc, can lead to this. Distress can create a great deal of restlessness.
I do not think the basic personality types can change all that much though. Your personality type is defined earlier. My trade is a writer (you may have guessed with the messages), which has income shortcomings. I am also a researcher and analyst, and my current project is bullying.
* There is the story of the Tennyson poem called Rizpah, where the perpetrators were hung at Goldstone Bottom.
On a larger political scale, a collective of nihilists (and perhaps absurdists) undermine the position of resource-owning authority. It is revolting.

Writing Style
What Is Your "Write Type?"
Writing style, even that used in memos and reports, is a reflection of personality and a little insight will help you write better. Of the many personality instruments available, the best may be the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI) because of the strong relationship between results on the MBTI® questionnaire and writing style.

Lipson-Shiu Corporate Type Test
Lipson-Shiu Corporate Type Test
There are a number of well-known systems for classifying people's personalities according to various measures such as introversion-extroversion, and organisations often use these schemes to categorize their staff. Unfortunately, such methods do not capture a number of the most important aspects of an individual within an organisation; any corporate employee knows that whether someone is (for example) extroverted or introverted is much less critical than (say) how important they are. The Lipson-Shiu test attempts to remedy this and other oversights by classifying along four alternative axes:
Intelligent-Stupid
Lawful-Chaotic
Important-Unimportant
Good-Evil

Comment: This is Absurdism.

Captain Swing Employment Policies Plan (UK 2008)
"M'Lord, the plebs have been revolting again."
"Call in the Guards, hang the ringleaders and send the rest off to the colonies."
"Can't do sir, this is the twenty first century."
"Well what do they want?"
"They want the land back that your grandpa stole from them."
"It is for the greater good, our capital investment is producing dividends."
"They don't see that way M'Lord. They see your galavanting around in your helicopters with your wife in fancy dress ..."
"Let them get a job."
"All the good jobs have been given to your useless nephews because they were playing with firelighters."
"Well let the plebs pick up the trash!"

Fundemental Human Needs
Fundemental Human Needs
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fundamental_human_needs
Max-Neef classifies the fundamental human needs as:
subsistence,
protection,
affection,
understanding,
participation,
recreation (in the sense of leisure, time to reflect, or idleness),
creation,
identity
freedom.
Needs are also defined according to the existential categories of being, having, doing and interacting, and from these dimensions, a 36 cell matrix is developed [4]
The matrix is on the above web page.
What the above page does not say is the relative importance of each of the needs as experienced by different personality types.
This is a revised post. The original, I was unhappy with is as follows:
Realizing that everyone has the same basic needs that you have. Here are some of them:
1. love given and received
2. food, shelter, and preservation of life
3. a feeling of importance
4. a sense of being needed and useful
5. money and the things that money will buy
6. life after death
7. health and happiness
8. the well-being of children and family members
9. the craving of fellowship and oneness with God
10. a feeling that life is worthwhile and that they are making a contribution to this world
Winer Foundation Page
http://tinyurl.com/4wdbg8
My addition: People need to be related to as they really are (or as they think they are), not as an image of the viewer. e.g. if the Other thinks you are a Teddy Bear Artisan chasing girls into the woods, when you are instead a shy introspective dreamer Dragon Idealist on Cloud Nine, then is going to be some fundemental confusion.
Well, I thought that the rain would cool things down
But it looks like it don't.
I'd like to get you to change your mind
But it looks like you won't.
From now on I'll be busy,
Ain't goin' nowhere fast.
I'm just glad it's over
And I'm seeing the real you at last.

The Obvious by R D Laing

Extract:
To a considerable extent what follows is an essay in stating what I take to be obvious. It is obvious that the social world situation is endangering the future of all life on this planet. To state the obvious is to share with you what (in your view) my misconceptions might be. The obvious can be dangerous. The deluded man frequently finds his delusions so obvious that he can hardly credit the good faith of those who do not share them. Hitler regarded it as perfectly obvious that the Jews were a poison to the Aryan race and hence required to be exterminated. What is obvious to Lyndon Johnson is not at all obvious to Ho Chi Minh. What is obvious to me might not be obvious to anyone else. The obvious is literally that which stands in one's way, in front of or over against oneself. One has to begin by recognizing that it exists for oneself.

Final extract:
The average IQ is, by definition, 100. To get an idea what this means, someone with an IQ of 80 or below is considered to be marginally able to cope with the adult world.
People with IQ's of 80 or below typically work as unskilled laborers such as lawn maintenance and trash pickup. They generally need help from friends or family to manage life's complications. About 10% of the population has an IQ of 80 or below.
People with IQ's of 80-90 are a little on the slow side but may be found in fast-food restaurants, day-care centers, etc. They may also be found in unskilled jobs. About 16% of the population has IQ's in this range.
People with IQ's of 90-110 generally occupy semi-skilled positions, including typists, receptionists, assembly line workers, and checkout clerks. They are able to keep up with the world, and comprise about 46% of the public.
People with IQ's in the 110 to 120 range fill the skilled trades and include some tool and die makers, teachers, and Ph. D.'s among their ranks. They also make up 16% of the population. People with IQ's of 120 and above tend to staff the professions as doctors, dentists, lawyers, teachers, and college professors. They fall in the upper 10% of the population.
The average IQ of all college professors is 130, which lies within the upper 3% of the general public.

Conflicts
A conflict is a protracted struggle between personalities, ideas, and interests. Is all conflict bad?
The Chinese characters for crisis are "danger and opportunity." The cause of conflicts, under to the scheme of Dr. David Cornacks are:
1. territorial conflict refers to fighting for roles, titles, or responsibility
2. border conflict is caused when there are overlapping rules or responsibility
3. resource conflict is when there is a limit of financial or physical resource that everyone wants to use.
4. ethnic conflict are the prejudices and preconceptions that we carry into all situations
5. influence conflict refuses to recognize the influence another person has.
6. personality conflict results from a person's own personal insecurity and fears.
7. ideological conflict stems from differing religious, political, and educational philosophies

Such a tactic is an excuse to avoid addressing the real causes of conflict, and the department’s performance will suffer as a result. Managers must be able to recognize the signs of conflict behaviors and deal with the conflict in a forthright fashion.
Comment:
In intimidation cases, the behaviour of one or more persons seems to be the reason.
Group Conflict

These are worse* than personality conflicts. There is a certain common ground when a group intimidates an individual.
(*Personality conflicts can end in murder, group conflicts can result in genocide and war.)

Body Chemical Alteration by Pharmaceuticals
A nervous system stimulant will enhance your Sensing abilities over your Intuition. Intelligence = Thinking abilities (correlated with IQ) is on the Feeling-Thinking continuum (my interpretation). That is why cocaine habitee Sigmund Freud was such an IDiot!
I expect a psychedelic will enhance (temporarily) your Perception over your Judgement.
Alcohol will probably enhance your Feeling over your Thinking.
Morphine (morph-shifter) (heroine) may enhance your iNtuition over your Sensation ???
Speculative information on short term chemical devices.
But if you get the bonk whilst cycling, it is a glycogen shortfall, and your need some bread and tea (tea is a nervous system stimulant).

Stress and Social Defeat (Links)
Stress (biological)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Stress is an internal response to stimuli or pressures that challenge an organism's ability to adapt or cope, disrupting homeostasis (internal balance). Stress may be mental, physiological, anatomical or physical.[1] Stressful stimuli, also known as stressors, range from chemical agents to medical illnesses to a hectic lifestyle. Psychologically, the level of stress can depend on the emotional or cognitive appraisal that a person makes of a situation and of himself. Stress typically involves activation of the fight-or-flight response. Stress has been shown to cause neurochemical, hormonal and physiological changes.

Social Defeat
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Social defeat refers to losing a confrontation among conspecific animals, or any kind of hostile dispute among humans, in either a dyadic or in a group-individual context, generating very significant consequences in terms of control over resources, access to mates and social positions.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_defeat
Personality disorders are defined by the American Psychiatric Association (APA) as "an enduring pattern of inner experience and behavior that deviates markedly from the expectations of the culture of the individual who exhibits it".

Cognitive Dissonance
In psychology, cognitive dissonance is an uncomfortable feeling or stress caused by holding two contradictory ideas simultaneously. The theory of cognitive dissonance proposes that people have a fundamental cognitive drive to reduce this dissonance by modifying an existing belief, or rejecting one of the contradictory ideas.
Often one of the ideas is a fundamental element of ego, like "I am a good person" or "I made the right decision." This can result in rationalization when a person is presented with evidence of a bad choice, or in other cases. Prevention of cognitive dissonance may also contribute to confirmation bias or denial of discomforting evidence. If not corrected, this can lead to further bad choices for the sake of consistency, rather than learning from mistakes.
Experiments have attempted to quantify this cognitive drive. Studies have not so far detected any gender or cross-cultural differences.[1]

Besides the fact that it may take a whole lifetime to discover who we really are, researchers, theorists, philosophers, etc. have come up with ways to categorize people. Whether or not you believe it is ever possible to be "pigeonholed" and how this impacts on the uniqueness that is "you," it is, in fact, being done. From human resource departments to management consulting firms, the MBTI has become a standard tool for helping organizations make the most of their workers.
