I do see your point though and he could be an INTP with a little bit lower on the P scale. He is very judgemental. He has the arrogance of the INTJ.
I think he is a Messenger/Teacher rather than a system builder. This would make him an INFJ so he is clearly a morph-shifter between different types.
The biggest vote in favour of INTP of the NIPT category is his invention of memes, which is a meme. On the Starship he would be Data, opponent of the villain Lore.

I don't think he is caustic enough ??? Maybe you are right. The media wants an actor with sharp clear judgements and he may very well be adapting to the the demands of the media. NIPT ?
However, I would tend to play the order TNIP (changed my mind)
